When it comes to traveling, i always fall into excitement.

The browsing about where-to-go, how-to-travel, when-to-depart, where-to-eat, and ultimately who-i-go-with?

I do like solo traveling, but a travel-buddy will make the whole difference on how you enjoy the trip. A good travel-mate will make a joyous trip, a bad travel-buddy will make a disastrous trip. Believe me, you just don’t want a bad travel-buddy, it is baaaadddd for your sanity. =))

Luckily for me, i met a perfect travel-buddy among my colleagues at work. Amazing eh?

I met Juna (actually her name is Juni..) on 1 May 2007, our very first day working at some foreign bank in Jakarta. We’re getting closer each day with some other friends. It lead us to our very first trip together – to Bali (you can read the story here).

Since then, we just can’t stop thinking “hmm, where to go next? when the budget airlines are having a great sale?” Plus we don’t have anyone who objected our hobby, and we’re very single at that time. Single, lots of money and lots of leave balance…perfect life! Oh well, its back then thou… Don’t ask us now, or you will be a very unlucky person of the day. =D

Its easy to plan a trip with Juna since we have a pretty much same background. Oh no, i don’t talk about race nor family. But we are a simple traveler with a simple vision about it…we’re just happy being on a trip. We hate to be worrying on simple things. Kalau bisa mudah, kenapa harus susah? Don’t rich people difficult lah. =D

We’re not a super wealthy people, thus we do plan our trip well. We talk about money bluntly. If one of us cannot afford it, then we find other place or other way to reach it. Both of us did not make any itineraries, can you believe that? Mwahahaha.. We only bring a travel book for reference and just wandering the places as far as our feet can make it.

Lack of topics to talk?? No, it won’t happen to us. We can talk for houuursssss…on the same topic and we have a lot of topics to be talking about. Not to mention gossiping. Bhihihik!

Ah i miss being on a trip with Juna. Its been a while since we’re working for a different company now and struggling in the hectic-ness of being a corporate slave. When i able to take leave, she couldn’t. Vice versa.

People said that if you want to know a true character of a person, go travel with them. If its the case, then me and Juna already tested for the past 5 years, and (un)fortunately we can bear each other’s quirkyness. =))

Do you have a steady travel-buddy? Keep them as friends or marry them – if you dare. 😉

Sawah Lunto, trying-not-to-be-forgotten city

19 Feb

Wait, Sawah Lunto. What is happening with Sawah Lunto?

…shyt, Sawah Lunto…Sawah Lunto… *ohiya, gue lupa googling aja loh. NGOK!*

Whalaw, itu kan kota tambang batu bara, Ombilin teaaa!

Ish bangga banget gue bisa inget secuil pelajaran sejarah jaman sekolah dulu. :’)

Karna secuil ingatan itu, gue makin bersemangat mau tahu lebih banyak tentang kota ini. Dan gue setuju banget sama Dinoy, i’ll skip Sikuai island for this Sawah Lunto. Oh well, itu karna gue uda pernah ke Sikuai juga sih sebelumnya. Mwehehehe! *toyor kepala sendiri*
